- We are regularly in operations abroad, and then it is important to have a top modern field hospital, Chief of Defence said.
The Chief of Defence also pointed at the recent episode where Norwegian soldiers were in combat, as a good example on how important it is with a hospital that functions.
- It is important to take care of our crew. By doing so we are able to create confidence in the Norwegian population.
Best in the world
The acting Chief of Medical Section Brigadier Dag Hjelle thinks that the new hospital keeps a very high standard and he is of the opinion that the field hospital is the best of its kind in the world.
- This hospital can be compared with a normal trauma hospital, and with this capacity we are able to operate two at the same time and we can treat 7 to 10 persons a day, Brigadier Dag Hjelle stated.
The Field Hospital can within 20 minutes be operational and has a capacity of 50 sleeping accommodations. The field hospital is the first of two new systems from NDLO/Investment in co operation with the British Marshall Specialist Vehicles. The other field hospital will be ready at Setermoen in August.

Project leader Gudbrand Søfferud is very pleased with the result and he also praised his many good helpers in this project.
- We have purchased this hospital very quick and this I can thank many good employees, Søfferud said.
