Marshall SV provides support to Norwegian forces in the frontline

Norwegian Defence Logistics Organization (NDLO) and other Scandinavian specialists recently received training on the second of Norway's new transportable surgery units. A Marshall Specialist Vehicles (MSV) Customer Support Team met the system as it was delivered and unloaded in Norway. The Customer Support team made up of experienced engineers, logistics and training staff from across MSV assisted with unloading and inspections and then provided training to enable the NDLO to become fully familiar and qualified on the system.
During the training instruction was given to the user group responsible for the full deployment of the system utilizing all of the required handling resources. Despite freezing temperatures, sheet ice and the occasional snow flurry the complete system was deployed and connected within the required 2 working days.
Once deployment training was complete Norwegian maintenance personnel were given detailed instruction on the operation and servicing of the NSU sub-systems. This included electricity distribution, medical gas generation and certification together with water system purity checks. As part of the set up and maintenance training the NSU's external heating units were deployed to maintain the internal temperature at 23°C despite the outside ambient temperature being below minus 15°C.
A further phase of training saw Operators from various Scandinavian countries being trained on the use of the internal sub-systems...During this period the electronic patient monitoring and surgical operating equipment was delivered and fitted into the system which brought the hospital up to a fully operational state, making the surgeons and nurses feel more at home in a warm and clinical environment.
With the instruction period finished the 'User' community was delighted with the 'state of art' Hospital system and were looking forward getting 'hands on' during an Operational deployment. They have subsequently run a series of demonstrations of its capability to the Norwegian Armed Forces-including the Chief of Defence and the public. Having completed another very successful training period the MSV team left Norway in the knowledge that the system could now be deployed, and operated, by a fully trained team of medical and support personnel.
