Donation to service charities

Marshall Specialist Vehicles (MSV) sponsored a senior Army officer who took part in the 125 mile Devizes to London Canoe Marathon over Easter. The sponsorship will go towards three service charities involved with the welfare of soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Major General Bill Moore CBE who has himself served in Afghanistan and is now responsible for all the equipment used in the Field Army is took part in the race with a colleague, Judith Eastwood an engineer with BAE to raise money for:

Help for Heroes, the charity rebuilding the gymnasium and pool at the Services rehabilitation centre at Headley Court where many wounded service personnel are helped back to as normal a life as possible.www.helpforheroes.org.uk 0845 673 1760

The Soldier Sailors and Airmen's Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help who amongst many other activities that support servicemen and their families are building short stay accommodation at Selly Oak Hospital so wounded servicemen and women's families can stay close to them whilst they are in hospital. www.ssafa.org.uk (Cambridgeshire Branch 01733 890254)
